i have liked all the hoppy beers i have had from these guys so far, and am starting to see more of their stuff around town here in boise. i think they have these styles pretty well dialed, and this is a nice example of that, a dry hop driven pale alt thats really fruity, but also balanced and quite well refined, great freshness in my experience with it on tap, and a beer i would be keen to drink again for sure. this isnt quite clear, but its not conventionally hazy either, and it has a lasting airy white head from the tap. i smell fresh mango, dried apricot, and a papaya thing, lots of tropical fruit to the hops, and seemingly very little of the classic citrus and pine notes. i even get an almost strawberry candy to the hop profile, but the beer isnt sweet at all. a slight oily slickness to the feel, and not quite dry, but it seems about right for these flavors, which are nicely extended here. good carbonation, moderate linger, fantastic freshness. this is a drinker of a pale ale at this abv, and quite modern tasting to me, very good overall. i am pretty excited about these guys, everything seems to be real well done and just unique enough to be their own. this is great for summer sessioning.

Amber brew with fine-grained white foam in the New Belgium snifter. Pleasant grainy and flowery nose. Resiny hop notes and a distinct bitterness that seems to keep growing. Malty but just a touch of sweetness. Sharp and prickly mouthfeel.
Robust and crisp but some odd notes of pickles and cornbread. Quite bitter after some sipping. Mineral flavors in the aftertaste, a hint of metal even. I think of club soda with some fresh dirt. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station in Belliingham.

Can from Brewers Haven. Medium amber, small foamy head. Big malty nose and taste, recalls more of an English pale. Not the hop bomb you’d expect. Nice caramel flavors, lingering dryness.
