Look: Almost clear red in color with a sudsy white head that fizzles out pretty quickly, leaving a film on top and good lacing on the glass
Aroma: Pine, white grapefruit, navel orange, blueberries, a little Cannabis, freshly baked bread, some caramel, and wafts of tropical fruit
Taste: Starts off with some caramel, bready malt, and berry notes before a huge hit of pine and citrus fruit crashes the party and dominates for a bit. As that hit wanes, berry and tropical fruit notes get a chance to develop before citrus and pine return in force for the close along with a good bite
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and a nice, medium-strength dryness on the finish
Overall: I dig it. A hoppy red ale brewed locally and utilizing two of my favorite hop varietals – yep, I’m in and it hasn’t disappointed. The Mosaic and Simcoe bring plenty of citrus/pine/berry/dank to the table and paired with a tasty darker malt bill that tries to balance it out is a winning combo each and every time in my opinion. Tasty and recommended
