We took our tried and true Scottish Ale and made it every hop-head’s dream. Aggressively dry hopped with Cascade. Same great body and caramel-toffee maltiness but with hoppy notes of citrus and pine.

12oz can, plastic hotel cup, no freshness dating. And yes, I did break my own rule about buying hoppy beer with not date on it. I was intrigued enough.

The sight of deep auburn beer covered in a layer of creamy looking suds is very inviting.

I think they struck something with this pairing of deliciously complex malts and robust hops. Toffee, dark caramel, and dark bread play well with citrus rind and pine.

It’s earthy, sweet, bitter, and delicately smokey. It’s got rich caramelized malts and classic C hop citrus. It’s delicious.

Medium-full body, creamy, luxurious.

A hoppy Scottish ale is not a variation you see everyday and this is very well executed. Well done.
