This beer was made with the addition of lactose. This non-fermentable sugar gives the beer a rich thick body and touch of sweetness that blends with Valrhona cocoa powder, oat flakes, a touch of vanilla and a generous dose of dark malts to create a perfect dessert.

Pours pitch black, with a small tan head. It dies off in a matter of seconds and leaves absolutely no lacing.
Smells of coffee, cocoa, milk, and oats. Somewhat metallic. Oh, and some alcohol.
Taste is very milky. There's the expected chocolate taste, as well as a distinctly bitter coffe aftertaste. It's a bit too sweet. No trace whatsoever of the 9.5% ABV. Some vanilla, and some oats too.
Mouthfeel is very smooth, with little carbonation. Body is medium.
Huge, huge letdown considering how much I like their other beers. Boring look, boring smell, boring taste, and boring mouthfeel... no recipe for a great beer. It's not really balanced, and I feel like if it was it still wouldn't be all that great.

A chocolate-vanilla oatmeal milk double stout. It does what it aims with wonder. The oat acidity is present in the smell alongside the chocolate and a touch of vanilla. The milk rounds up the taste and balance the oat as the chocolate give some character to the beer. It's not a roasted bomb but it doesn't try to be one. The thing is I would have prefer a heavier body
