Copenhagen 5/6 2024. 33 cl bottle from Rewe, Süderquerweg, Hamburg. Beige label with a drawing of a Goat’s head en face and the name of the beer in burgundy letters. I am drinking the 2023 version.
Pours opaque dark murky mahogany with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a dark, sugary and a bit candy-like malty odor mingling with a scent of dark alcohol. Dark roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Brown sugar in abundance. Sweet boozy liqueur.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a light bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a strong sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with a touch of alcohol.
Potent boozy Dunklerbock.

Bottle from Craft Beer Store in Hamburg (right across from Ratsherrn).
Bready, with notes of pumpernickel and dark malts. Slightly toasty, with a nice mouthfeel. Plain and simple, but enjoyable and pleasant.
