Lübeck 16/4 2019. 33 cl bottle from Rewe, Wo-Anders, Lübeck. Stylized Drawing of Golden Shark with a hop cone in its jaws on a very pink background.
Pours clear light amber with a small white head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No Lacing to speak of.
Aroma is of sweet exotic fruit, light fermentation with prominent citric notes. Mango, peach, honey melon. Notes of grapefruit and citrus.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a very light sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Decently bitter take on a West Coat IPA which does most things right. And I really like the shark on the label.

From the bottle, it pours a clear amber with a modest head, reducing quickly to a ring and islands. A bit of lace. Some hops in the nose. ...and mouth. Personally, I think it is more of an East Coast IPA vs a West Coast IPA.
