I got this beer from Roy, the friend of one of my nieces. They were in Italy and he brought along some beers for me. This was one of them. Poured in my Struise glass the beer starts good with a very decent head and a nice tealike fluid. Some carbonation
The head disappears in a few minutes leaving some lacing. Smell is not inviting and the taste is too thin. Forget this one if you think you will get a bock. This is not a bock...

Into obscure territory here, courtesy of a good mate, who sourced this from an Italian eatery in Yamba.
Pours red. Yep, really quite reddish... just lke the name.
One finger head hangs around for a while, then recedes, no lace.
Aromas - a strange one, very malt driven, but also some sawdust shavings, and acetone. All this and in line with a Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy on the nose.
Taste is very sweet and malt driven, quite pleasant. Toffee and caramel in there as well. Forget the hops, not a bad thing, eh?
Odd beast, but I like it.

A - Minimal head, dark ruby colour.
S - Sweet red berries. Touch of malt and cheese.
T - Fairly light on the palate at first. Plenty of darker wood/nutty flavours mixed with some gentle berries. Bit of malt working in the background.
M - Quite mild on the palate. Sweet berry aftertaste.
O - Not a bad drop, quite sweet overall. Has the feel of a German dunkel mixed with a more light, fruity beer. Nice distraction without heading too far down the path of a lambic.
