Vom fass at Drei Kannen in Ulm over Thanksgiving weekend 2023. Fitting since this city is the home of the brewery. A pretty good beer from a pretty mediocre brewery. Rich and roasty like a Dunkel should be. Approachable and drinkable body/feel. Pleasant hop presence in the finish. This is a well-rounded, tasty dark beer that I’d drink again if given the opportunity.

I had this beer in Esslingen Germany in 2016 and really enjoyed it. I remember it being a fantastic dunkel but had an argument with the bartender when trying to get it.
