Gold Ochsen Weihnachts Bier (Christmas beer) is my favorite beer outside of Gold Ochsen Hell beer. Weihnachts beer is only produced before Christmas and sells out normally by January, then it is back to Hell beer for me as my daily drinker. I've known about Gold Ochsen since 1977 and lived or was stationed in Germany for about 40 years.

Best by date of 04.05.23 on the 0,5l bottle.
Label says “feinwürziges festbier”
On the lighter side of Marzen, hence “festbier”. Not the finest product to come out of Bavaria state, but drinkable.

From the Christmas themed half liter bottle, it pours a clear light golden color with a very nice white head that slowly reduces as you enjoy the brew. Lacing. The nose gets a fresh malty scent with a hint of spice. The mouth gets an exceedingly pleasant malty brew with a touch of spice.
