This was a decent winter warmer, but I got a lot more of the spice than the cookie sweetness. If that was the goal, then they succeeded, but I expected a little more balance in this one. It's fairly light so you don't have to worry about a booze bomb, which is good. All told, not bad, just not my favorite winter beer.

Poured from a can into a goblet. Dark opaque brown, no head, no lacing. Smells of caramel, roasted nuts, malt. Taste follows with cinnamon and cardamom. Light mouthfeel. Overall, lighter than most spicy winter ales, but that is kind of refreshing. I'd go with this again.

12 oz can. Pours clear ruby amber brown with a small off white head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet toasted caramel malt with a bit of spice (cinnamon, allspice) and a little fruit.

The flavor is bready malts with a little roast and some spice in the finish (cinnamon, allspice, maybe nutmeg). The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, an OK spiced beer. A bit too heavy on bready malts for me.
