I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a five sample flight whilst their for the Eagle River Pond hockey tournament. It poured a dark opaque color with thin off white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had subtle chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with chocolate presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

On tap at the taproom in Eagle River. Very good beer. Well-made with deep chocolate undertones and good malt body. Just as good in pre-filled growler from Trig's.

Tasted in a Spiegelau stout glass from a growler on January 24, 2015. Smooth and creamy.

One of the best porters I have had in a while...combining roastiness without being too bitter, the chocolate comes through perfectly. To me, this is exactly what a porter should taste like. Also lacking "a house flavor" it comes across as a bigger porter than it really is, I can't wait to come back in January for the snowmobile races and drink this by the growler!!!

On-tap at 3 Cellars in Franklin, WI:
Pours dark brown with a thin head. Some lacing sticks.
The smell is of robust sweet chocolate with slightly sour dark fruits and roast.
The taste follows the nose. Rich chocolate balanced by slight sour and earthy roasted notes.
It has a smooth medium body. Very suitable carbonation level and texture for a robust American Porter.
A wonderful chocolate porter!
