The fine head quickly faded on an intense and very dark purple color. The smell is of dark malts, some typical doppelbock aromas, some smoke, but not very expressive. The taste is of dark malts, smoke, caramel, mostly toffee, finishing on a very sweet and light note. Enjoyable but not overly complex. Not very thick for a bock, but drinkable.
