Once upon a time in a small village on the edge of the Black Forest, one of Germany's first pilsener style beers was created by Fürstenberg brew master Josef Munz. Nowadays, we still brew our Fürstenberg Black Forest Pils based on his original recipe. Driven by the love for extraordinary flavors, we use a special combination of the finest malts and Hallertau &Tettnang hops to achieve a crisp and refreshing character with a unique note of bitterness. Enjoy this tribute to the Black Forest, our home and heritage since 1283.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and faint bright yellow + pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy bright white head that quickly reduces to a small patch of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the majority of the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of cracker + biscuit + bready malts with a minimal amount of grainy sweetness and light aromas of grassy + floral hops. Hints of lager yeast.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of cracker + biscuit + bready malts with a minimal amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by hints of lager yeast. Finally there are light to moderate flavors of grassy + floral hops which impart a slightly heavier than light amount of bitterness which lingers slightly and then leaves a clean finish.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a crisp mouthfeel. Enjoyable with a decent amount of bitterness to offset the maltiness.

I like the bottle label artwork. The pour is golden yellow with a moderate amount of carbonation. The taste is malty, grass, floral note, & faint hops. Cheers! B-

Pours clear, light gold in color with 3/4 inch head. Taste is cereal, grass and a touch of skunk. Light bodied, high carbonation, sweet. Makes for a slightly above average German pils. Easy enough to drnk but not one that stands out.

Poured from an 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is mild, some grains. Taste is of malts, light hops and grains. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall, it's not the most flavorful example of this style I have tries, but it is one of the most refreshing and easy drinking examples of it.

Golden color with a thin head.
Aroma with notes of grainy malt, mild spicy and herbal hops and a bit of dough.
Flavor with notes of spicy and herbal hop, mild crackers and grainy malts. Dry aftertaste with a growing medium bitterness.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
Well-balanced and pleasant German Pils. Rather simple, but very crisp.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle into glass. Best by date stamped on label is by the end of '12/2018', so a little past prime.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Half a finger of white head settles back to scattered islands and ring, all fed by rising bubbles. Left behind lacing slides back down into body or dissipates on the glass.
Aroma of biscuit and cracker malts, and earthy, floral hops.
Taste of biscuit and cracker malts, while the hops present earthy qualities with a little bitter zing at the end. Malts trail off in the aftertaste.
Medium, clean mouth feel. Good carbonation.
As described on the label, this is a crisp and refreshing pils lager. Good balance overall.
