Poured into a 3 Monts tulip. Pours a dark caramel amber with a massive three quarters of the glass ivory head with a careful pour. Seems overcarbonated. Aroma of spicy sage, saison yeast, light herbal and woody notes. Flavor of tart woody and earthy light malt, saison yeast and some light funk, a hint of pumpkin; sage and nutmeg spicing. Finishes a bit sweeter with some light stone fruit and then dries out to reveal saison and wild yeast flavors. Light bodied with peppery active carbonation. Very close in character to a traditional saison, with dry, earthy and funky notes. Although labeled as a dubbel on the brewers page, this seems to be solidly in siason territory, tart, herbal and earthy. Pumpkin flavors are muted.
