Sangiovese barrel-aged saison with brettanomyces and wild red huckleberries.
Nose of earthy wild fruit, sweet peach, lemon rind, apricot and wet oak. Copper-rose hue, bright and crisp with moderate tartness & acidity. Notes of honey, straw, wild berries, tangerine and tropical fruit. Soft body with light tannin and a dry finish.

I give the Red Huckleberry a generous 2.5 (more than it deserves, really) because of the off-flavor. I'm sure the taste, which is like that of the smell of a dirty sock or soggy cardboard, is due to oxidation or possibly an unwanted fungus. It shouldn't be in any drink, and I'm hoping it's only from my bottle (maybe oxidation just in my bottle). The brew isn't over carbonated which might be an indication of MLF (which might also cause this kind of off-taste). It is a pretty color and feels nice in my mouth and going down. I hope this low grade is helpful because I feel horrible giving such a low number. Nothing but love!
