Served chilled in a wine glass.
Best before: 20/07/2013 (Consumed in April 2013, reviewed from notes).
A massive thanks to my buddy Guillermo for hauling this back from Argentina for me.
Appearance: Germania Roja pours a clear amber red colour, with a rough pouring yielding a massive off-white head that displays great retention and leaves thick rings of lacing clinging to the glass as it slowly recedes.
Smell: Mmmm, this actually smells quite nice. The nose offers notes of toasted malt, a touch of toffee, some red fruitiness (red apple and maybe some cherry?) and a floral note.
Taste: The flavour seems to follow the nose pretty well, but doesnt quite offer as much flavour as one might have hoped for. Notes include: Toasted notes, fruity malt, floral hop notes and a touch of bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel: The body is a little too light and comes off a little watery at times, but the carbonation is spot on - medium level and pleasantly smooth.
Overall: Another solid beer from this little brewery in Argentina. I hope I can visit them one day and taste these beers fresh on tap.
