The latest (third) release in Long Island's collaborative "Local to Locals" series of beers - produced by independently-owned local breweries for independently-owned local beer stores...
Literally canned yesterday, 6/27/18, and immediately available in stores... This one is a wheat ale, so I poured it into a weizen glass to reveal a beautiful pale orange-amber ale with a light haze and a fat pale beige head...
I'm not a big wheat guy or a big peach guy, but I didn't want to break the trend of sampling these Local to Locals releases... Glad I didn't... Super-soft and super-smooth, with a low 5.2 abv, this thing went down fast... The beer has typical wheat impressions of mild citrus and fresh chewy golden grains, with mild orchard fruit suggestions, notably peach - but without being some sort of peach bomb - very subtle, very gracefully incorporated - not sure to what extent actual peach fruits were used, but this was a very enjoyable brew, even though stylistically it would normally have been off-the-mark in most ways for me...
While I'm not thinking this is any kind of game-changer, nor is it anything like the best beer of its type, but it is incredibly fresh (obviously) and does exactly what you'd expect in this type of beer, while also serving the purpose of serving the Island with local product...
Absolutely grab some while you can...
