Pours a vibrant nut brown color with a huge, stable, beige head.
Offers aromas of flowery garden herbs, dark bread and melting caramel among spicy, wooden hops.
Its mouthfeel is light and refreshing with a well developed, higher carbonation level, resulting in an easy drinking, thirst quenching beer.
Tastes of nutty, roasty and grainy malts, accompanied by bakers chocolate and a drop of toffee, wrapped into leafy, slightly dry hops. Has a creamy, sweeter middle part with additional honey cutting through, while the rustic malt backbone holds up, creating a subtle, well working balance. Finishes with crackers, bread rind and grain enriched toffee, together with a glimpse of caramel and opposing, dry hops.
This is quite a nice surprise. After Hannen is no longer part of Carlsberg this has become quite loveable. Its overall balance and mouthfeel are superb, light, yet complex and well brewed. Its flavors range from sweet snd savory to dry and mineralic, balanced by well integrated hops.

Good dark colour. A warm clear brown.
Malty flavour, little sweet, both in a balanced way.
Pours nicely, keeps a nice head on the glass.
Really enjoyed this one. A good alt in my opinion, and I'll definitely be picking up some more bottles of this.

From Labirratorium. In Teku glass. Playing Broken Sword 5. Light caramel and toasted notes. Very drinkable and refreshing. Pleasant but lacking some punch

To me this smells like vomit. I cannot deal with the particular malt mixture that is causing that. It is not bad, but it is not my cup of tea.

330ml bottle. Stange glass. Brownish amber, chill haze appearance. Off-white foam creates a close crown & shows fairly good retention. Floral & light chocolate aromas. Toasted & slight chocolaty flavors at first sip. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Dense to watery texture. Low but clean bitterness & herbal notes linger into a long bitter/sweet finish. Dried aftertaste where woody hues are displayed. Delightful beer with very nice drinkability.

Appearance: Amber/bronze; large frothy head; long lasting
Aroma: Malty; nutty; lightly roasted grains; biscuity
Taste: Malty, slighty nutty and hoppy on start; thin mouthfeel; finish slightly bitter and semi-sweet; nothing great, but not bad
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

50cl bottle shared with my wife on 8th Jan 2013: poured into designer 'Hannen Alt' glasses.
I am old enough to remember when the head brewer left Hannen to join Diebels Alt and the problems Hannen had afterwards: took them a long time to recover.
Anyway: back to this bottle. Can't believe I've not had a bottle for so long.
Nice bright chestnut brown body with a full, deep head of off-white foam on top.
The nose is malty: brown bread and yeasty with a few mixed nuts thrown in.
Taste wise it follows the aromas: malts, nuts and bread yeasts lead the way with some dark fruits making a weak bid to get in on the act.
The beer seems full bodied and flavoursome, becoming slightly drier towards the end of each sip: I've missed this beer.

Dusseldorf altbier style, from the right region, although not a very good one. Color and aroma is right, but taste and palate are weak and watery. A budget version of the style...
