500ml Bottle conditioned: BBD 4 Aug 2013, poured into Gwaun Valley brewery badged pint sleeve on 14 Jun 2013.
Brown body: not as dark as most Stouts, but dark enough: on top a thin off-white collar and wisp. I like a full head on my UK beers.
Nose was weak: some malts but not much.
The taste was better than the smell: chocolate malts to the fore with mild coffee notes. A bit watery in the body for a Stout, the alcohol however is well hidden and the beer is easy to drink. Semi-sweet with a subtle bitterness towards the end of each sip.
A little too close to 'home brew' for me.
