On-tap 1/7/08 at Pitcher’s Pub in Cumberland, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves very little lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is fruity (dark fruits and citrus) with light malts and a little hops.
T: The taste starts with a dry and tart raspberry flavor that dominates. There’s a little bit of sweetness from a thin malt character that comes next and there’s a very mild hops presence.
M: Crisp and not very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, dry finish.
D: Not very tasty, doesn’t go down too easy, not too filling, mild kick, to me this beer tasted a lot like Magic Hat #9, which I don’t particularly like.

I enjoyed a couple of pints of this at The Tap yesterday during lunch with Artied2. It was a clear, medium-copper colored bier, with a creamy yet short white head. It was also nicely sticky on the sides of the glass. Has a citrussy hop nose, displaying the NW hops the bier menu says are part of the recipe. Malt, in the aroma anyhow, is at a minimum. Body is a decent medium, and it has a relatively low carbonation rate producing a nice feel on the tongue. Taste starts a touch pleasantly bready and yeasty. The citrus hop aspect comes well into play once again, and pretty much dominates the flavor profile, and really sticks in the throat well. This is a decent quaffing bier, more like an IPA than a regular pale, but who's quibbling. Zum Wohl!!
