Pours a dark maroon leaving a thick tan head. The nose is fruity, pumpkin, clove, and cinnamon. The tase is very malty, very fruity essence upfront like molasses and a hint of roasted nuts that then moves to just a small bitter hop feel for balance but finishes sweet, bready, and refreshing on the palate. This is a quality pumpkin ale one of the best I've had this fall.

Sampled on-tap the brewpub, Oct. 2005.
This pumpkin ale poured a somewhat surprisingly dark, deep red mahagony color with creamy, light brown foam that settled. The smell was malty with a hint of molasses or carmelized sugar and light spices (nutmeg or mace). The taste was malty and lightly spiced with a good deep of brown sugar or carmelized sugar flavor (most likely from the baked sugared pumpkins). The mouthfeel was dry and smooth with medium body and modest carbonation, and with the spices lingering a while in the finish. This was a good pumpkin ale, and the dark color and dark sugary flavors made it somewhat unlike most other pumpkin ales I have sampled.
