On-tap 5/9/08 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a curved US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a dark brown color, with a short off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of dark fruit, caramel, nuts, maple and some hops.

T: The taste is sweet and fruity with flavors of dark fruit, maple, nuts and caramel up front. There's a hearty malt character and a decent hops presence. The after-taste is sweet.

M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is sticky and dry.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a good beer to drink for a while if you're in the mood for the style but it's not one that I'd choose right away.

i found this brew to be tasty. the color had a nice amber tint to it, and a serviceable head sat on top

very rich all around. the aroma was of diacetylish nuttiness, and a touch of hops. earthy hop flavor and bitterness from some english variety i assume. luscious, sweet caramel malts give this beer a great big mouthfeel despite not being a particularly strong one

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub with lunch on February 24. Poured a dark brown in color. Clear though and light was able to peak through and give off a bright, clear brown. Nose was my favorite part of this beer. Candied chestnuts and caramel. Very soothing and relaxing.

Flavor was more of the same that I got through the aroma. Not as candy or sugary sweet but more of a malty sweet though. Also, picked up a bit of a sulfur flavor which helped balance out all the sweetness. The sulfur was not overpowering but very mild and seemed in place. Medium body the beer improved as it warmed up. Nice smooth texture too. Nice all around brown ale with its own take on the style.
