On tap 4/17/09.
A: Pitch black with a creamy off-white head that left excellent lacing.
S: Roasted malts and then very weak coffee. I was expecting more of an assertive coffee smell, but was disappointed.
T: Pretty weak in the taste department as well. It certainly wasn't bad, but I was going into this expecting coffee flavors along the lines of Peche Mortel, Founders Breakfast Stout, or Alesmith Speedway. Maybe I had too high of expectations.
M: Guinness-like. Rather thin and definitely not cloying.
D: The drinkability is very good. Light bodied and lower on alcohol, this is a session beer.

I was lucky enough to enjoy this beer at The Tap and also get a sample at the recent Beerfest in Boston.
This is (was) a very nice stout.
Borderline black in color with a thick sticky brown head. Huge amount of lacing.
A total coffee aroma that let the secret out that this is in fact a Coffee Stout. Nice roasted coffee flavor. And I love deep rich coffee and the aroma that comes with it.
A deep dark alluring flavor that was just great.
Very smooth and the finish was nice and certainly had a coffee quality.
You can certainly have this beer with a great dark chocolate dessert. Or just have the beer for dessert.
very good effort.
