On tap. Consumed 8/29/09
A) Creamy head. Sustainable. Lacing is thin and creamy, with some stickiness. Golden in color. Light haze.
S) Grainy. Pilsner-esque. Light earthy tones.
T) Light malt sweetness up front then moves to a more grainy taste with subtle hops. A lingering grain dryness and hops in the aftertaste.
M) Crisp. Light bodied. Mild dryness.
D) An alright brew. A nice light beer for the patio.

Listed on The Tap's website as a Belgian Abbey Ale, so I'm not 100% sure if Belgian Pale is the legit category; please feel free to update. 5.2% ABV and 30 IBUs. Direct from the source - poured into a pint glass at The Tap.
Pours with a yeasty 1/2-finger head. Cloudy and clear with mild carbonation and a lemon-honey body.
Solid Belgian yeast electricity and esters. Good ginger bite with faint cloves and coriander. Slightly Germanic hops provide bitter piney balance and jump in its step.
Wow - this hits the spot. Crisp, clean dominance by the fine Belgian yeast to no detriment to the sum of its parts. Light orange zest, ginger, clove, cinnamon...even some slight rind...the usual suspects. Slight mild tartness...not funky but a hint of Saison texture in here.
This dances on the palate. Seems like Saaz hops but I'm most likely mistaken. Still, it's a clean pale Belgian in a pub setting with a tight bitter finish, so that counts for a lot.
Sessionable and slightly sour. Solid - I should get a growler of this. Jon sure is bringin' it with these offerings. I'm happy as hell I finally made the trip up here.
