Locally sourced from Kimball Farm about 6 miles down the road, we get these in mid September -- you know -- when real pumkins are actually in season. Hand washed, hand cut, and roasted in the pub kitchen. Since we're closed on Mondays we tie up every oven in the building with over 300lbs of ultra-fresh sugar pumpkins and get em' nice and golden brown to caramalize the fermentable sugars. You know why? You deserve it.

Rebrewed as a fall seasonal. Nice bready beer with enough pumpkin spice but not overwhelming amounts. Medium light body. Tasty, a good value pumpkin beer.

Appearance: Slightly hazed burnt orange with some dark gold. Head is off-white, pillowy, with large loose bubbles. Drops to a small cap and collar with small spots of lacing. Moderate carbonation on the pour. Pretty spot on here.

Smell: Soft fall spice with some allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon, but it's all very mild. Loaded with tons of vegetal pumpkin. Squashy with a mild malt backbone. Some slight malt sweetness with some bready and caramel malts. Shortbread and some pie crust. Definitely lets the pumpkin shine through. Some mild grassy elements.

Taste: Mild bready and caramelized malts. Shortbread with some graham cracker. Spices are a bit more prevalent than the nose indicated, mostly cinnamon and clove with a touch of nutmeg and allspice. Nice real pumpkin flavor. Squashy and vegetal. Vaguely nutty and slightly toasted. Clove jumps up a lot as it warms and dominates some of the more subtle pumpkin flavors. Not particularly sweet, which helps here.

Mouthfeel: Medium, slightly creamy body, with a moderate carbonation. A touch dry on the finish, but clean overall.

Overall: I'm still in a dream., PUMPKIN EATERRR!

A decent pumpkin beer. The spice are a bit off kilter in the long run, but the pumpkin itself is quite nice. Definitely above average, but not a top tier take. With a dialed down spice component, this could be crazy good. As it is, at $4/bomber, it's on my list.

Tap at Prezo

Light fizzy head fades at a med pace with light lacing, very hazy murky orange red auburn color.

nose explodes with pumpkin spice, some canned pumpkin filling, some pumpkin pie, crazy spices nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, allspice, ginger, etc etc. some light bready toasty cereal malts as well.

Taste starts again with loaded spices, this time a weird creamy squash like flavor also comes, some pumpkin, like a chai pumpkin tea latte our something, as well as a light pumpkin pie and canned pumpkin. Spices aren't too heavy actually, just dominating the front of the palette. More nutty flavors, nutmeg and cinnamon, before the malts finally come with a light toasty bready cereal malt and bit of caramel. It has a light bitterness from the spices I think and light sweetness. Finishes drier but not much, creamy malts, more chai pumpkin latte, a bit more bitter as well.

Mouth is med bodied, decent carb, a bit creamy, and an almost slimy finish.

Overall not good. Way to much spice, pumpkin flavors are not great, malts lacking as well. Mouth is weird with the slimy creamy feel, just a portly made beer imo. I've had a lot better from haverhill.

On tap at the brewpub the afternoon of Night of the Funk 2010.

Pours a really nice orange-copper color with a really strong white head that persists for quite some time. As it falls, loads of lacing rings. The nose is pretty spice forward with some cinnamon and nutmeg, which is followed up by a very large presence of clove and allspice.

The taste suffers from a bit of the same problem as the nose, as the clove really takes hold and overshadows the other spices. Instead of being pumpkin-pie spiced, the beer ends up just being a clove show. Spicy feel on a medium body. Once you get past the overpowering notes of clove and, to a lesser degree, allspice, this is a pretty nice autumn ale.
