On tap at VeeVee's in Jamaica Plain, MA.
Pours a very dark black with a moderate head that doesn't last terribly long. The nose is surprisingly mild for such a dark beer with notes of roasted coffee. This beer tastes much more like a dark roasted porter than anything else: lots of roasted barley and bits of burnt coffee and unsweetened chocolate. The hops are tucked in the background, but balance out the dark roasts nicely.
Though a very drinkable beer, this Haverhill offering is a little one dimensional. They ashy dark roast is very nice, but doesn't evolve or develop in the mouth.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
