a: I try not to be a shallow person, but sometimes its hard not to judge something by its appearance. This did hace a nice sized, sticky head, but the body was a hazy, turbid, caramel brown color. Not very appealing.

s: Sugar cookies, charred toffee, and an unbalanced, floral hop aroma.

t: Kind of a mess. Sweet suagr cookies up front, which I liked. This was quickly washed away by an unpleasant charred toffee flavor and largely flavorless, abrasive bitterness.

m: Wet and fizzy.

o: Leather Lips is a kick ass IPA. What the hell happened here?

Had from a cask at The Otherside in Boston. Served in a pint tumbler- pours a very hazy golden/copper color with a great two finger head, exceptional retention, and a little bit of lacing.

Smell is very striking- smells to me almost exactly like Thai Basil as strange as it sounds. A little sweet, a little spicy, but not your normal run of the mill hop scent.

Tastes great- big bold hops all the way through. Pretty bitter, but some very nice floral and pine hop tones. Pale malt is not really so noticeable but provides a good substantive background for the hops.

It's from a cask (and all cask-conditioned beers I've had have all been similar in the mouthfeel regard)- medium body, zero carbonation. A little grassy and a very long dry finish. Excellent.

It was listed as Haverhill IDK IPA. Maybe it was something else but I haven't seen anything fitting that description.
