Black with hints of red hues, topped with a large foamy tan head that settles to a fuzzy blanket leaving minor bubbly lace.
Smell is moderately deep and dark roasted malt, almost suggesting coffee, with chocolate wafer and cocoa dusted nuts.
Barrel comes in on the flavor immediately, but not harshly, providing a little liquor aged vanilla bean, oak and light peppery bourbon that seems to actually brighten up the dark, roasty aromas I was expecting to taste on the palate. I get a little raisin and chocolate, but it's not as deep as the nose would suggest.
Feel is round, medium to full, with a frothy fizz and cola finish.

22oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of bourbon, oak, vanilla and chocolate. Sweet toffee, caramel with bourbon, char and vanilla taste.

A huge beige head erupts immediately and remains as a thick cap and ring on top and leaves thick strands of lace. The smell is of cocoa, earth, minerals and faint coffee. The taste follows with sweet cocoa, vanilla, oak and subtle coffee. Full texture with crisp carbonation.

This has to be the most underrated bourbon stout out there. The balcones barrels adds such an amazing depth to the beer with an abv that won't burn your mouth out. Try to go for batch no.2

Pours a dark chocolate color with a light tan head. Aroma is chocolate roasted malts. Flavor rich and chocolaty. Has a bit of sweetness but not much barrel present. Has a smooth silky feel and overall very delicious. I wouldn't call this a barrel aged but overall delicious.
