Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very hazy reddish tinted orange amber color with a tiny head of fizzy white foam. The head fades super fast leaving no lace on the surface of the brew or the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strong of a strawberry shortcake like smell, being a mix of a sweet vanilla cake aroma mixed with strawberries and crème. Overall the aroma is very dessert like and inviting.
Taste – The taste begins with a quite sweet crème ale flavor, almost resembling a crème soda like taste. There is plenty of vanilla upfront, but not too much strawberry. While absent initially the strawberry builds as the taste advances and is joined by some other flavors of a very doughy and caramel sweet taste. At the end there is a bit of a raspberry like flavor that joins the strawberry, to leave one with a sweet red fruit crème cake like taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thicker and chewier for a beer of its abv. with a carbonation level that is rather low. For eh dessert like qualities of the brew the feel is rather nice and makes for a sweet and nice slow sipper.
Overall – A rather enjoyable and sweeter strawberry shortcake like brew. A nice dessert beer.
