12 oz can from Tavour. Black pour, thin film of beige head. Aroma is cinnamon, front and center. Taste brings the roast, some sugary sweetness and a lot more savory cinnamon. Dry.

12 oz can
Pours opaque black, tan head dissipates to a lacing.
Smells of biscuit, cinnamon, brown sugar and vanilla.
Tastes of brown sugar, cinnamon, toast, walnuts and charcoal.
Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.
This is okay. The cream ale version is better. That tasted like a cinnamon roll transformed into beer. This tastes like an average milk stout poured over a cinnamon roll. It's fine but not their best pastry beer.

Black ale in the glass offered no translucency under a finger of pale tan foam... Aromas of cinnamon and vanilla, like cinnamon rolls? lol - sure, but on the sip plenty of bittersweet charred cocoa and coal, adding ample bottom to the pastry theme... Medium-bodied, moderate bitterness actually - leaves a nice dry bitter ashy char on the finish - moderate sweetness - mostly up front, with aforementioned sinews of vanilla and caramel, accented with cinnamon and cocoa powder and dark roasted malt... A nice stout, hits its marks style-wise and flavor element-wise...

Poured with a thin, dark-tan head which quickly dissolved. Aroma has VERY strong notes of vanilla and cinnamon - it almost smells like walking past the cinnabon at the mall. Taste follows, with the cinnamon a little too strong - definitely would have liked to have the malt a little more prevalent, and the vanilla finishes it with just a hint of bitterness.
