Appearance: Very dark mahogany body, with claret highlights at the stem of the glass and before a very strong light. The head is massive and fine-beaded, with very good retention. Belgian-style lacing adorns the glass wall.
Aroma: Massive aroma of ripe bananas, molasses, brown sugar, sweetened espresso, vanilla, strawberry, and sweet and spicy alcohol, reminiscent of a banana split.
Taste: The taste opens with a wave of brown sugar, ripe bananas, sweet cold coffee, sweet cocoa and molasses. As the taste progresses the taste presents as toasted dark bread and unsweetened strawberry preserves. Later, there is a wave of dark caramel and bitter cocoa. The alcohol presents a mildly spicy note, and a little warmth, but is rather understated for an ABV of 8.7 percent. Finishes with a lingering note of mild herbal hops and burnt caramel.
Mouth feel: Very rich and full, with a consistency of half and half and very faint carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: An absolutely superb dessert beer, I could imagine pouring it over vanilla ice cream or serving it with cheesecake or Tres Leches cake. Truly a banana split in a can.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a very dark brown colored with a one finger head of brown fizzy head of foam. The head fades fast leaving tiny bit of foam lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is roasty and sweet. There is tons of milk chocolate and some nice roasty malt smells mixed with a tiny bit of coffee. The sweet smells are big of a vanilla, marshmallow, and brown sugar along with a tiny bit of banana, strawberry, and a touch of crème.
Taste – The taste begins super sweet with tons of milk chocolate and lots of brown sugar and molasses. Along with these flavors comes lots of nice toasted and roasted malt flavors as well as a touch of a latte like taste. As the taste advances, these flavors remain strong all while some light banana and strawberry tastes come to the tongue. At the end of the taste the sweetness surges even higher, and with a big increase in marshmallow and vanilla, one is left with a very sweet and rich dark and heavy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the big sweet stout and ice cream stout flavors of the brew the feel is great and makes for a nice chewy and dessert like beer.
Overall – A super rich and sweet dessert brew. A little too sweet and rich for me, but it does have nice flavors and a smooth feel overall. If you want a rich and sweet stout then this is certainly for you.
