We visited Sherman Texas while visiting family in Dallas. The drive north to Sherman TX was worth it. We picked up a four pack of this beer at their brewpub location. We actually flew it home with us in our checked baggage (actually in our daughter's bag, don't tell anyone), chilled it and poured into a tulip.
Look: off pink and dark orange, small finger sized head that dissipates quickly with no lacing.
Smell: pineapple, citrus (tangerine), sweet, marshmallow.
Taste: sweet and sour tangerine up front with pineapple that follows. Not sure we get a ton of cherry, but on the end we get a malty beery note. There is no bitterness to speak of and the ABV is very well hidden. The marshmallow and vanilla are subtle notes you get up front but are not over powering.
Feel: light mouthfeel, refreshing, small tickle of carbonation that doesn't hang around long. 903 is one of the best slushy producers we have had and that they called this a slushy was interesting because it isn 't thick like most of their slushy.
Overall this is a nice, light refreshing Berliner weisse. For a slushy, the mouthfeel is very light and not thick like most 903's slushys. The beer reminded Bren of a punch her mother would make on New Years Eve for celebration. Not the same experience for this Irish American kid, but cool she got that. My grandmother used to make an ambrosia salad during the holidays, kind of like that for me.
Cheers everyone!
