Pours a deep brown with a bit of a pathetic head… Smes rich of malts, cocoa, dark fruit, lactose. Taste follows the nose, a little sweeter than most stouts. It also has a salty taste to it that i guess is supposed to go with the sweet.
Full-bodied, light carbonation, smooth.

Appearance: Deep amber brown body, verging to black, with a large fine-beaded tan head, with good persistence. An irregular ring of thick sticky, fine-beaded lacing adorns the glass wall.
Aroma: Very strong note of cocoa and bitter chocolate pervades the aroma, very similar to the aroma of a chocolate malt. The high ABV of 10.7 percent is present, as well: a sweet, slightly vinous note infused with chocolate that reminds me of a chocolate liqueur. There is, perhaps, a mild saltiness to the aroma.
Taste: On tasting, a dense wave of milk chocolate and cocoa presents, along with, yes, a bit of saltiness. A bit later, warming alcohol, with a slight spicy sweetness comes to the fore. The alcohol, while prominent, lacks any harshness, whatsoever. Later in the taste, the chocolate rises to a more bitter note, utterly dominating the taste to its end, and beyond. At the taste's end, there is a mild, lingering bitterness reminiscent of the end taste of bitter chocolate.
Mouth feel: Superbly rich and full, with the feel of whole milk, and a faint bit of carbonation to add interest.
Drinkability/notes: A really interesting and well-crafted example that manages to avoid being a "me, too" amongst the present cornucopia of dessert ales. This pairs well with dark chocolate, and would pair well with other chocolate desserts.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a Unibroue La Fin du Monde chalice, served at The Lake House.. 1802:07112021
