Gooey decadence inspired this full-bodied treat. Our Magic Bar Cookie Stout is infused with flavors of pecans, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate and graham cracker. The rich essence of dark chocolate and cocoa host these luscious layers, laying down a bittersweet, slightly roasted and balancing foundation to the many confectionary additions. Sweetened condensed milk flavors lend an indulgent creaminess and sweetness, while flavors of nutty pecan and subtle notes of graham cracker complement and peek out from beyond the beer's forward maltiness. We've worked our magic with this stout!

Poured from a 12 ounce undated can into a snifter.

Look- Very deep brown, opaque, medium brown frothy head, below average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Coconut, graham crackers, sweet, medium strength of scent.

Taste- Coconut, graham crackers, chocolate, sweet, very slight pecan, high strength of flavor.

Feel- Medium body, below average carbonation, sweet, moderately mouth warming, silky, mildly mouth coating.

Overall- Beer poured very deep brown with a medium brown frothy head, but head was very quick to dissipate. Bouquet was predominantly coconut with a slight graham cracker character. Flavors were high in strength with a pleasant mix of coconut, graham cracker, chocolate and a very understated pecan. The beer was medium in body with a silky feel. I was hoping for a little more pronounced pecan character, but I still enjoyed this experience.

12oz can. No dating information found.
Black colored body, with very thin mahogany back lit edge. One finger of tan head recedes rather quickly to a frothy ring. No lacing.
Aroma is like a dessert, with coconut, sweetened chocolate and slight graham cracker.
Taste expresses dark cocoa (early to late), sweet chocolate, and sweet coconut, over a more base layer of nuts (pecans) and graham cracker. More malty and chocolate in the aftertaste.
The condensed milk adds some thickness to the mouthfeel, otherwise kind of thin. Supportive carbonation.
Hides the higher ABV% well, and definitely a dessert stout. All seems to be in balance, and ultimately not too sweet.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a dark brown color with a small head of tan foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is massive of a roasted malt smell mixed with lots of brown sugar and molasses as well as a big showing of a milk chocolate smell. Along with these smells comes a strong showing of toasted cocoanut and pecan and a little bit of a graham cracker smell. Mixed with these comes a light milky coffee smell and a good showing of a vanilla marshmallow smell. Overall, very rich and dessert like.
Taste – The taste starts out with a rich milk chocolate and roasted malt flavor that is paired with a strong sweetness of brown sugar and molasses. Upfront there is also lots of vanilla and some nice graham cracker flavors, both of which grow weaker as the taste advances. While the former two flavors grow weaker, they are replaced by more sweetness of brown sugar and molasses, as well as some sweet crème/milk like flavors. At the same time a coconut flavor develops and fades, with it being accompanied by a bit of a confectioners' sugar flavor. A tiny bit of nuttiness and a bit of cocoa nib and coffee come at the very end, leaving one with a very sweet and rich dark and roasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is quite thick with a carbonation level that is lower. For the style and the flavors the feel is good and makes for one very slow sipper.
Overall – Big and rich. Definitely a slow sipping dessert brew. Not one I would frequent, but would be nice for a liquid dessert on a cold winter day.
