Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is huge of a maple, shortbread, and crème smell mixed with lots of caramel and a big doughy smell. Mixed with these aromas come notes of a light graininess as well as a decent showing of vanilla and brown sugar. Overall, very sweet and inviting.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet creamy vanilla, bready, and doughy flavor matched with lots of maple and caramel. As the taste advances the sweetness gets even more intense as more and more maple comes to the tongue. Along with these flavors comes a touch of wood and a touch of earthiness. With the flavor transitions that occur, one is left with a sweet, but pleasant, maple shortbread like taste to linger on the tongue, holding the flavor true to the name of the beer.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is average. Overall, the feel is pretty good for the style and the tastes, making for a very easy dessert sipper.
Overall – A nice flavorful dessert brew that is not too high in abv. Not one I would go too unless looking for something very sweet, but that said if you want a nice dessert beer, then this fits the bill.
