Named after the mascot of Sherman’s local college, Austin College, this red ale is smooth and easy to drink. Brewed with five different malts, it starts with a sweet, malty flavor and ends with slight citrus finish.

Pours a clear reddsish amber color with off-white head. Caramel malt amd cereal grains on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more malt and some floral notes.

heck of an interesting take on a red ale here. thanks to drlovemd87 for delivering this to me, total champion he is. true to its style, its well amber in color, some haze, but candy shined and sticking with a half inch of white head. it smells fruity as anything, apple cider mostly, but a sweet and slightly phenolic thing, literally red apple juice, no hops at all, and as i keep smelling it, i have to go up and lower its score in this field. unappetizing weirdness, more juice than beer. winey start to the flavor, off flavors sure. one of the weirdest yeast complexions ive seen, not real pleasant. seems like it was fermented real warm or something. i can see the appeal with all the fruitiness, and with a real nice mouthfeel, including active carbonation and a less than medium body. its alright, at best. at worst, its a messy cider beer hybrid that pollutes the red ale realm. i fall somewhere in between the polar extremes on this one, but its really not something i ever want to drink again.

T sweet but balanced with hops.

A: Hazy amber color with a finger of creamy foam.
S: Sweet malt with a ittle citrus hops punch.
T: Sweet caramel malt, sharp tangy alcohol bite, and a healthy dose of piney an floral hops.
M: Smooth, creamy carbonation on tap. Very good mouthfeel.
O: A solid offering, from a promising new brewery that I'm glad I had a chance to try. Alcohol bite is a bit too sharp. A sort of disjointed astringency held this beer back from greatness. Perhaps it will become more refined with time. If it managed to smooth out the alcohol sharpness they would really have something special here.
