this is light and good, a fun beer for summer, not at all boring, and interesting beyond just the lemon, as there is a little yeast thing going on with this that is out of the ordinary, very enjoyable, drinkable, refreshing, and distinctive. yellow golden and very pale, close to perfectly clear, and sporting an inch of white head that leaves airy lace on the edges of the glass as i drink it down. nose of fresh zested lemon and some attendant acidity, a subtle almost brett element to the yeast catches my attention, almost more saison-esque than cream ale to me, neat with the citrus and the pale grain base. the flavor is solid too, simple on the malt side, very pale and drier, some light estery funk to it, seemingly intentional, which i really like, mild and even faint, but enough to give this beer some real interest, especially for the style. the lemon is fresh, natural, and rightly dosed for this to still be beer first. great carbonation, a clean finish, and even delicate in terms of texture. impressive brew, i am sorry these guys have made the decision to call it quits, i was stoked on my first and sadly only visit here...
