(Date:Smudged slightly but looks like 3-21-18)
Look: Cloudy, murky orange...poured flat.
Smell: Overripe banana's at first then a sour apple/green apple smell emerges and dominates.
Taste: First taste and my thought is this is better than the can I had yesterday. The banana notes are nice but a definite sour apple tartness to this...more so as it warms.
F-Slightly flat, medium light bodied.
O-This is not as off as yesterdays which was a sour/tart mess. Then again I was comparing it to two top notch hefe's and perhaps it stood out more side by side. Not sure. This one does not bother me to the extent that yesterdays did but it is a long way from the level of the offerings of this I had at the brewpub (which I never reviewed but had pegged in my had as 4.0-4.2ish). The main issue is the tart/sour green apple notes (more subtle today but clearly evident) and the flat carbonation which may be from the transition to cans.
I posted that this was infected. That may not be the case. May be more of a fermentation issue. Maybe it will smooth out as it ages. Not sure if it detectable right after it is brewed or not. Either way this batch was off. I look forward to trying again and hopefully raising these scores. I think the banana notes are right on track.

Look: cloudy, bright orange, small head for a hefe, and it recedes quickly. Aroma: bubblegum and banana, a bit of clove. Taste: more towards the banana, and more towards my liking. There is more clove, and less bubblegum. Also to my liking. Mouthfeel: chewy texture with lively carbonation. Comments: it's always nice to see American breweries brewing a traditional Hefe instead of an American Pale Wheat Ale that is neutral in both aroma and flavor. It's even nicer when they do it well. This beer is done well.

On tap at the tasting room. Limited head and lacing. Attractive honey-orange color. Aroma of banana and citrus. Smooth taste with banana, citrus, and a wheaty mouth feel. Overall one of their best ales.

On tap at Turtles.
Looks and drinks like a hefe. Aroma and flavor is very much to style. Good ester and phenol character. Where this beer falls short of great hefes is a lack of creamy mouthfeel and a lingering bitter finish. Otherwise solid. Decent effort

Very cloudy bright amber color with a massive head that slowly settled to a thick cap. Thick lacing is left down the glass.
A lot of yeast esters in the aroma. Get the usual suspects of banana and cloves to compliment the wheat.
I get a lot of banana flavors to compliment the wheat. Hints of cloves with a little warmth in the finish from the alcohol. This is a big hefeweizen and I prefer mine to be a little lighter and crisp.
More of a robust weizen that could be considered bock strength. The carbonation is not very lively either which adds to the heavy mouthfeel.
Has some good aromas and flavors, but the size of the beer, and the carbonation, does not make me want to chose this beer in the heat of the summer.
