With a name like that, "Conan the Bavarian" probably brings back childhood memories for many of us, but how is it that Flying Couch has come up with that particular name for this particular beer? This is due to the relatively new and highly praised Mandarina Bavaria hops used in the beer. Mandarina Bavaria is a daughter of Cascade, Hallertau Blanc and Hüll Melon and originates from Hüll in Germany. The aroma of Mandarina Bavaria is characterized by slightly sweet notes of mandarin and citrus, especially when it is used for dry hopping, which is the case here.

Copenhagen 15/5 2022. 33 cl can from Lagar, Rantzausgade, Kbh. N. A barren landscape with a lonely horseman. It might be good old Conan the Bavarian.
Pours opaque hazy, golden yellowish a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a subdued sweet odor of stone fruit mingling with zesty citrus fruits. Peach and melon. Grapefruit, lime and citrus.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a tart streak. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Juicy NEIPA with a soft, smooth touch of oats.
