Hands down the best beer I’ve ever had. Was gifted with 250 free Tejas Negras and finished them within the week. Not sure why anybody would give this fantastic beer away for free, absolutely crazy.
The feel is that only a woman can match. The taste was similar to that of a black coffee, with a hint of dragon semen. It smells of fresh Daisy’s on a sweet summer day. Tejas Negra looks like Teanna Trump in a thong, absolutely beautiful.
I’d bet my life on this beer, it’s a shame they have stopped brewing this beer because it was up there with the best of them.

Great beer! I expected a dark beer, but it’s closer to a dark red. Not too heavy, great taste from start to finish!

On tap at High Sierra in Terlingua, TX.
This one pours a slightly murky brown, with a small head and lots of lacing.
This smells like toffee, chocolate, sweet malt, and nutty malt.
This is pretty spot on for the style. It’s lightly fruity and yeasty, with a nice maltiness- nutty, toffee, light chocolate. It’s all lightly flavored but it’s all there.
This is light bodied, crisp and clean, with a slightly creamy body, and a good level of drinkability.
This is a nice craft rendition of a Mexican style Vienna lager. It tasted especially good sitting on a porch overlooking a Texas ghost town near the border.

I had a couple of these while eating Tex-Mex at the Gaylord in Grapevine.
Served in a modified pint glass, the beer is a dark amber with good clarity. There is a beige head and not much lacing. It looks great.
The aroma is of caramel malts and something floral.
The taste is right in the wheelhouse for the style. It is slightly sweet and nutty with some toffee notes and slightly spicy hops in the finish. It’s a food friendly beer that went great with my tacos and chips and salsa.
The mouth is medium with decent carbonation.
I liked this one and would have it again.

Starts off with a finger and a half thick heads which quickly disappears. Extremly thin lacing surrounding a pretty medium brown/caramel body. No visible carbonation and a clear body.
Sweet aroma, mild brown sugar and raisins.
Sweet, mildly tart with just a hint of alcohol in the aftertaste. The malts kick in mid-tongue.
Semi dry finish with a light body.
Overall, not bad and worth a try.

The dark to the clara, Tejas Negra also comes in a 12 ounce can. Perhaps another Mexican-styled lager? On to the beer:
Light caramel brown in color and crowned with a half-inch of soapy head and dotted lace. With a few whiffs of the aroma, I knew I was heading towards drinking a Mexican-styled beer. The aroma of cooked corn with light toasted malt confirmed that direction. Despite the use of adjuncts, Tejas Negra is a decent beer. The toasted malt and kiss of caramel help offset the dose of cooked corn that doesn't taste like it has a place. With a light-medium body with fuzzy carbonation, this beer looks made to be consumed in warm climates.

A good looking beer, as the light tan head falls it leaves behind a trail of lacing upon the glass, makes this dark reddish copper colored beer look pretty inviting. A light sour note added to a light malt aroma that was expected. The malts come through more in the taste as they seem to be on the darker roasted side of things. Finishing with a nice drying after taste with a bit of the malts lingering along for the ride completes this worthy beer.
