Amber Dexterous Amber Ale:
Appearance: Red amber in color, no head because it was poured into a sampler shot glass. Not clear if the beer is filtered or not, because it was slightly hazy, but shouldn't an amber have fairly good clarity?
Smell: Sweet caramel malt is the most present scent. In fact, heavy malt and caramel are the only two real scents I detect.
Taste&Mouthfeel: Malt, caramel. Slight piney hops on the finish. The malt is a little too sweet for me, ambers should be slightly sweeter, but this brew seems cloyingly so. The pine is a nice try to balance the malt, but it doesn't quite stand up to the job.
Overall: I wrote these notes short hand very quickly, but the one word that stands out amongst this brew was "eh." It was just "eh." Not bad, but not something I would search out, or ever re-order.
