Found in a Vienna supermarket, the standard brown half liter bottle sports a tan, brown and red label featuring barley stalks and a coat of arms around the name. No useful ingredient information. Best before 12/31/06, I opened it on 11/6/06.
Pours a clear dark cola brown under a 1.5 finger tan head with nice contour, fading fairly quickly at first, then slowing and depositing some nice lace strings down the glass. The nose is very sweet of caramel. The mouth is quite prickly and slightly sticky. Mild very malty taste with hints of caramel, but mainly bready. No noticeable hops, the grainy taste lasts a bit, then fades behind the remaining sweetness. A pleasant, if somewhat boring brew.

This is a sweet beer and, to my palate, quite tasty. Dark brown color, frothy, airy brown head, everything is full of sweetness, sweet flavor, some sweet aroma, and a sweet finish with sweet caramel aftertaste. Taste is malty, milk coffe notes, medium strong roasted malt aroma. Tart bitter aftertaste. A nice beer.
