Appearance: lightly hazed, amber/golden hue, slim, soon-gone head.

Aroma: crazy sourness at first, a little funk, then band-aid. Intentional? Can't be sure with these guys. A little bit of fruit, some malt sweetness, but most of all band-aid.

Taste: Ooooh! Ow! Okay, first of all: sour, then comes the salt. Wincing, grimacing, head-shaking, squinting, teeth-gritting, lip pursing, all part of the pleasure that comes with the pain. I think. And more band-aid. I'm frowning in disgust more than anything else through this experience. But like a good soldier, I forge on.

Light bodied, lean and drinkable…-ish, but for that horrible taste. Sigh…Just not into this at all.

I'm going to take a break and read the label for a spell: "Notice: traditional high carbonation, chill well….A spice bazaar, a gentle sea breeze, intoxicating musky Rose fields, MOUTH PUCKERING SOUR! That's right baby, a smackdown for your senses! Spicy, flowery, musky, sour, salty, inviting and sensual, charming and dashing, bottled class. For all you discerning Mensches. Unpasteurized. Bottle conditioned. Decant when serving."

Part of me is saying "pour it down the drain" (what some would refer to as a "drain pour"), but I'm going to see if I can make it through this 750 ml bottle. And after a bit, the bandaid is less discernible, but it is there, it hasn't gone away. And with each new meeting of glass and lip, it's there again. With the salt and the sour, you know it's intended as a Leipziger gose, the rose aspect definitely shows itself, and I'm not sure about the Jamaican sorrel. There's definitely the sourness there, as well, and the bandaid is getting dimmer as we go along, but it's never forgotten.

I'm not adverse to sour ales by any means, and I enjoy most of this, but that band-aid infection still sticks the the palate and is inextricably married to the memory.

This one is going in the minus column. And so far, the BB brews are not working out for me. I might have to hold out for a free one before I try another.
Postal Script: I did not actually finish the remains of the glass, and the final few ounces did find their way into the kitchen sink. I tried, Lord, how I did try.

Clear vibrant gold colour. Smells like rosé, white grape, lilac, and a lil sweet and a lil floral. Crisp and light, delicate refreshing flavours throughout. A little tart upfront and hint of salt, with a semidry rosé body and dry palate finish. Great on a hot day, easy to drink.

From a bottle, pours a slight haze dark gold color with a bit of head then it just goes dead still.

The nose is very floral, perfume, earthy, dried fruit, a little lemon. The flavor is also very earthy and floral, a little acidic, salt, cracked pepper, reminds me of a white wine that is starting to turn. Tart, but clean finish.

Overall, this is pretty good. Not top tier, but good.

Yellow body, slight haze, thin white cap. Aromas of floral notes, tart citrus. Mineral water, earth, floral notes, cracked pepper, a touch of white wine. Light in body with low carbonation. Decent.

From a bomber into a tullip

A: clear rosy peach with a thin crown of white that quickly subsides; carbonation is okay, but not quite what I expected
S: some seaweed, some faint muskiness, some soft rosy floral notes, the promise of some tart and sour orchard fruits
T: identifiable with the nose: some very mildly salty and sour notes, but the lactic is balanced with a soft flowery perfumey sweetness. Some vineger and mineral notes, but fairly subtle. Not sure that everything hangs together as well as it might, but it is refreshing and enjoyable; moderately sour.
M: Good little pucker, sits on the tongue very nicely, light and refreshing

This beer was served on tap at Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It arrived in a tasting pint, showing a white zinfandel coloring. A frothy, soapy one finger head of white bubbles showed decent retention, and left soft cratered lacing around the glass as it dissipated. No haze or sediment was noted, and carbonation appeared to be active. The nose opened with heavy plastic phenols, cold salt lick, green grassy hops, rose and lilac wet leafiness, pale and wheaty malts, mildly funky metallic yeastiness, rainbow sherbet, sake booziness, white rice, under ripe green pears, cotton candy phenols, vegetal seaweed, dusty drywall, and wet cotton. The following flavor included chlorine chemical zing, soured lemon juiciness, wet wheat, oily hazelnut, raw sourdough dough, plastic and chemical phenols, glass, glue, tart lacto fermentation, acetone, sake, cardboard, soured ginger root, wet and watery celery, white wine vinegar, pale malt dust, nickel, acrylic paint, and ball point pen inkiness. The body was lighter, and carbonation was high, but soft. Wet slurp and smack came atop creamy frothiness, and tight finishing pop. This bled into a high puck, with the mouth left crisply superdried. The abv was appropriate, and the beer drank easily.

Overall, this beer showed excellent sourness and boldness, offering up an ultimately fresh, yet classic, representation of the style. This remained true, with the tartness and saltiness actually curbed and softened by the rosy floral inclusions. This, coupled with the effervescent carbonation made it seem almost like drinking a light, sour version of party champagne. We would definitely toast with this at midnight on New Year’s Eve!! This was the last beer we drank on our final trip to Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery, and felt it to be a nice departing uniqueness from them. Always great to try to get exposed to more examples of these goofier, rarer styles in the states. Keep bringing it Minnesota!!

Cheers to the new dad, Steasy66. Worst fears realized with you reproducing, but at least you send me beer.

A. Pours gold with a touch of peachy-ping and half a finger of white head that fades to a collar.

S. Sweet floral notes, like in a powdery icing sugar kind of way. A touch of chlorine and a light frutiness. Hmmmm. Not as bad as the coupage, but not great.

T. Decent sourness, minerals and a touch of that chlorine from the nose, light floral notes, some tart orchard fruits.

M. Light body, medium carbonation.

O. Not sure what makes that chlorine-like smell in some kettle soured beers, but I'm not a fan.
