Very dark, just about black, creamy, brown head above. Looking very nice.
In the nose: roasty/toasty, lightly hoppy. Pleasant-ish.
In the mouth: Big hops right out of the gate, big bitterness, pine and citrus, bumped up against the caramel and chocolate malt. I don't know if they work together in this case. Dark fruit meets dank hops. Chocolate caramel pine cones. Mmmm. Huh. Yeah, not sure about this one.

A shrink wrapped can but the artwork is cool - the German dude standing in the dark forest with a mash paddle and morning star.
Beer pours dark brown with a inch of rich mocha foam clinging to the glass.
Faint chocolate with even fainter orange/citrus and toasted nose. Smells good but is light.
Taste/feel: Pine/resin right off the bat, slightly sour/citric, light lactose, chocolate, medium light body, finish is toasted/citric. Somewhat reminiscent of a porter.
Happy to have tried it, interesting style, would drink again on occasion.

Possibly the worst beer I have ever tried. Do you like soy sauce? Buy some actual soy sauce, because while I want to describe this as pure soy sauce, that's an insult to soy sauce. Imagine a blend of Kikkoman's and IPA.
I usually find something redeeming in a beer. This is my first unredeemable drain-pour. I feel bad for whatever is downstream.

The can says IPA, but the smell, taste, and feel do not say IPA...says "I'm a porter". This poured very dark, almost black coffee like, and with a nice thick head. I didn't detect much if any citrus or pine smells, just malt and nuts. Same with the taste and feel, very little bitterness, lots of malt and some chocolate. In fact my first thought was of a Sees dark chocolate chew, the walnuts and candied cherry really stood out. Overall, a great beer, I'll definitely get more. Just not sure this was really an IPA.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Very dark brown, thick head.
Smell: Roasty, pine.
Taste: Roasty malt, chocolate, moderate pine. More porter-like than black IPA. Nice body and feel.
Overall: Another can from a local brewery to try. I would classify it as more of a hoppy porter than a dark IPA, but in any case it is a nicely made, tasty beer.
