2016 notes:
Dark, reddish-brown coloring, vast cream-toned head, looking great.
Aroma: Big malt sweetness, large and full of richness. High hops, too. But malt keeps time with it, that's for sure. Big and bold and not too bitter.
In the mouth: rich malt and plenty fruity. Sweet, then bitter, then bitter, then sweet. Malt meets bold hops on palate. Tasty stuff. It's big and bold. Wait, I said all that, already, right?

Maroon and Bolder pours a dark and deep reddish color with a small lacing head. Big malty aroma, with hints of earth. Taste is big, lots and lots of malts, lots of earth, some noticeable hops, but a sweeter finish. Good body and feel. Overall, its a earthy, maltier IPA.

My local HyVee was out of Summit's double IPA and the manager recommended Bent's Maroon & Bolder. On sale for $8.99 for the 16oz 4pk. I am impressed. Lovely hop nose. Very drinkable with a dank hit of grassy hops up front. Fabulous flavor; resiny citrus and fresh. A slightly burnt malty aftertaste for the finish. Alcohol is very well disguised and there is a clean finish; not syrupy at all. This is a great DIPA and I will look for it again. Well done, Bent!

Double Infuriatingly Passive Aggressive Ale.
Clear light brown colour. Light aromas of dank earthy and citrus hops, a little malty. A lot of wet earthy hop action, a little piney and spicy, with lingering bitter hoppiness afterwards. A heavy beer, but lighter than most other double IPAs. Sweet pale malt body underneath balances and cuts the hop.
