Utter blackness, slim brown head. Fine looking stout.
In the nose: Some cocoa, traces of coffee, slightly sweet, but more dry. Promising.
In the mouth: Earthy. Hearty. Rich, chocolatey, with a shot of espresso. Nicely balanced. Soft, slightly sweet, full-bodied, adequately down able. Some spice popping in, a touch of cinnamon. (It's not in there, it's something I'm picking up.) Little bit of hoppiness board the palate.
I't's a good stout and you can drink it, but it lacks the warmth and charm that would draw me back for another.

Pours deep dark brown with a thick tan cap that leaves good lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malts. Flavor is mild roasted malt, a touch of soy sauce, and some mild hoppy bitterness at the finish. Feel is medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Overall an okay beer from a very local brewstillery.

This beer is why American brewers get a bad name. It has so much hoppy overload that it smells like pine needles and sadly tastes just like pine needles. No one should EVER do this to a stout. If you're one of those people who can actually taste hops then run - don't walk - from this beer. I had to pour the 1/2 can in the drain.

A great stout. Surprisingly flavorful without being overly heavy - nutty, and coffee flavors. Great food beer. Pours a nice dark brown with a tan head. Lighter mouthfeel than it looks. I live on the East Coast so cannot easily get this beer. If I could, it'd be a go-to beer!

This beer pours a simple black with an average head. The aroma is fairly light, with notes, of roast, coffee, dark chocolate, and a hint of red malt. The flavor is also reasonably mild, with milk chocolate, mild coffee, caramel, cinnamon, and toffee. The mouthfeel is quite light, with mild, bubbling carbonation. Overall this is decent stout, with nothing wrong, but nothing particularly to recommend it either.

Did a three way blind taste test of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout (FES), Guinness Antwerpen FES, and Bent Brewstillery FES. This one came in first. Antwerpen second. And Guinness Foreign Extra Stout was third.
Black as night. Head is tight and light brown. Lace is spotty and weblike at the same time. Moderate amounts. The aroma is fantastic. Malted milk balls, roasted bitterness, vanilla bean.... Flavor follows suit. Great malted milk ball presence. Thick and rich and lavish tasting. Some roasted bitterness. Vanilla bean and slight cappuccino and a dusting of cocoa powder. Nice dark bread yeastiness accents and the cherrywood malt base lays the foundation. Medium-full body with light carbonation creates a very creamy mouthfeel. Well done. Most definitely.

Very dark brown colour. Roasty grains, mocha, chocolate malt notes. Chocolate malt body, mocha, bit bitter at finish. Creamy with just enough carbonation.
