16 oz can into a nonick pint glass.
L: SRM 40 Pours black with a 3 stage tall creamy 1.5" khaki head that forms a dormant volcano cap and eventually recedes to edge foam, light carbonation, medium lacing with torn & holy sheeting.
S: Highly roasted & caramelized grains, has a sweet aroma, dark fruits, distant black licorice.
T: Taste follows aroma plus black coffee char, light sweetness that quickly transitions to bittersweet with a touch of dark bakers chocolate. It is toasty tasting overall.
F: Smooth, soft medium to med-heavy feel with a soft center and a medium length moderately drying finish.
O:A nice tasting Stout that is pretty straight ahead overall. No funny business, no flavorings. It is very good in its style.

Poured from a pint can into a Guinness pint glass.

L: Jet black, opaque. Half-inch of off-white head that dissipates quickly, leaving a slight off-white film on the surface.
S: Rich, toasty chocolate and coffee but with a spicy edge. Almost reminds me of a sweet teriyaki sauce.
T: Classic export stout depth; bitter or burnt chocolate, black coffee. There's a roundness to the back end of the flavor that balances the strong bitterness. A subtle sweetness throughout, almost like marshmallow. The bitterness lingers like nice dark chocolate.
F: Full body, moderate carbonation.
O: This beer gives much the same experience as a well-made export stout, but there's enough about it that's different to keep it interesting. Fairly good overall.
