Collaborations are an integral part of our brewing philosophy. We teamed up with our friend Olle from O|O Brewing to create a very special Black IPA.

A collaboration between two of Sweden's better breweries.
Looks like Coke when poured, reddish black with a nice head.
Smell is surprisingly fruity, with citrus, hops and a bit of coffee lurking around.
The taste is also quite fruity, with dashes of coffee and rye bread. Crisp citrus on the finish.
Very soft and smooth, drinks more like a stout than an IPA.
An interesting black IPA, unlike any I've had. Quite fruity, but with the mouthfeel of a stout. I liked it!

330 ml can, batch #170, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.6%. Dark brown colour, nearly black. Small off-white to beige head. Aroma of fruity and piney American hops, only hints of roast malts. The pleasant flavour is also fruity and piney, but the roast malts are now more distinct. Reasonably bitter, well balanced.

12oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a cola brown body, darker hued with a thick three finger offwhite head, long retention, bits of lacing. The head is too exuberant here, and it takes a while for it to settle down, kind of bothersome here. Smell is pine and lemon zest along with mild roast and toasted barley, touch of milk chocolate. Standard black IPA aroma, clean and crisp. Flavour is also standard; toasted barley, touch of pine, bits of lemon zest and even a little grapefruit, touch of milk chocolate as in the nose. Mouthfeel is medium-lighter bodied, good carbonation, slightly thin with a dry finish. Solid black IPA, nothing to write home to the US about, but certainly a solid local.

Black beer with a two finger high, beige, head that sinks down with lacing on the glass to a thin lid.
Nose: Pine, orange, fruity hops, grass and some caramel.
Taste: Pine and resin, orange peel, lemon, grass, roasted malt, licorice and a little bit of dark chocolate.
Mouth: Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. Dry and bitter at the end. Malty backbone.
This is great!

Great black Ipa. Very fruity : melon and mango mostly, a bit piney. Nice caramel malts and roasted malts presence. Very balanced beer. Juicy mouthfeel.

Dark brown color with big bubbled tan head. Aroma has dark malts, resiny hops and hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste follows with the roasted malt and resiny hops, bitter from start to finish but not too intense. Medium body and carbonation, really easy to drink. Black IPA is one of my favorite styles and this one is a really good example.
