A fresh bright nose with light notes of dark malt. The taste is hoppy and soft and the bitterness is both from the grain and the hops to create a great balance with a light carbonation.

Pours a pitch black coloration with a large, foamy/creamy, lasting head. Smell is dominated by roasted malt and citrus hops, with notes of chocolate and grapefruit. Taste is a great balance of roasted, just slightly caramelly malt and slightly grassy citrus hops, with notes of chocolate, grapefruit and just a hint of coffee, licorice, tobacco and pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some roasted malt and citrus hops lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
A great Black IPA that's heavy on the roasted malts and citrus hops, but still manages to strike a rather nice balance and also has a decent complexity to its flavor profile, with additional notes of chocolate, coffee, licorice and pine.
