This was another beer that I picked up on my recent run out west, as I found it at the Hy-Vee in Humboldt, Iowa. Enjoyed my other offering from Clear Lake and like that, this was a solid brew that felt like candy in a glass.
No surprise that this was dark brown in hue as enough offsetting head capped it upon pouring out. Not a lot of lacing was left behind with a few scattered flecks to be found. Loads of creamy peanut butter, milk chocolate, and subdued booze in the nose as peanut oil, mild malt, and a subdued but deep bitterness emerged on the palate. Creamy and oily in mouthfeel, this was plenty full as the carbonation was hardly anywhere to be found. A bit of cocoa powder gave this some depth as it helped to give this body and just the slightest bit of grit.
Some more hops, booze, and depth would have really made this great as this felt a bit too oily to rate any higher on here. The Clear Lake water allowed for the flavors to shine to their full potential, as the booze was only detectable at the end of my session. Canned on 2/3 of this year, this was old but somehow, held up over the intervening months. When done right, these are great dessert beers that should feel more like a beverage than a gimmick. This was more of the former but still needed just a bit of room for improvement.

On tap - peanut butter porters can be hit or miss. This one has a head that fades fast, sweet nose with some peanut butter - taste is peanut butter that slowly goes into a malty finish.

12 ounce can, canned on 08/31/22. Thanks to my buddy Denis for this one! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both OK. Definitely get a lot of peanut/peanut butter out of the aroma, along with some chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, peanut stands out but there's also some chocolate, roasted malt and some salty flavors. Smells better than it tastes. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's coating but seems a bit watery at times. Easy to drink though. If you like peanuts/peanut butter then you should enjoy this brew. Not a bad brew at all, certainly worth a try if you get the chance.

Peanut Butter Porter pours a dark brown, with a small, tan, lacing head. Aroma is filled with peanut butter. Flavor is sweet, with a big, natural peanut butter flavor. Good body and feel. Overall, it is what it says it is, peanut butter, but lots of it.

12oz CANNED ON 12/21/20 (5 months ago) poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 5.2% ABV 33 IBU. The beer pours medium brown in color with light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of tiny bubbles. The aroma is peanut butter and chocolate. The taste is more peanut butter and more chocolate. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with less than medium carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good. Truth in advertising. Not artificial with good peanut & chocolate flavor.

Not much to add except that they nailed the peanut butter cup flavor. Light, almost watery body brings this down a peg or too but adds very much to drinkablity. I’d say it’s a winner, and this is coming from a person who isn’t into gimmicky porter and stout flavors.

Full Sail Pint Glass
A firm chocolatey brown body that almost appears as if it is creamy or thick. Head is 1/2 finger and is beige-brown in color.
Aroma is pure peanut butter cup. Some sweet wafer, graham cracker, chocolate and vanilla. Very nutty.
Flavor is earthy, roasty, grassy, and nutty. The sweet peanut butter is subdued by the musty green hop flavor. I want to say it strikes a balance, but unfortunately it leans a bit more on the bitter side - it's like the Old Rasputin of porters. It also comes across a bit watery.
Feel is watery and roasty. Light to medium bodied, some lingering hop resin on the finish.
Overall, not a bad peanut butter porter but could use a bit less hop interference.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a large, light brown head of foam. It smelled strongly of peanut butter and some chocolate. Strong peanut butter flavor with a bitter finish.

Pours dark brown with little head or lacing. Smells like peanut powder. At first the peanut hits you, then a little bitterness, and last a little cocolatelty sweetness. Amost has a s'mores like appeal. Sweet yet dry finish.

Pours a very dark brown colour. Smells like peanut oils, a little smokey, some bitterness, and a little sweet. Tastes like dry-roasted peanuts, not overly sweet (which tends to happen with these beers), balanced, hints of cocoa, graham crackers, with a dry finish.
